Tim was born in Southampton but considers himself a Brummie, having moved there at the age of four. After that his journey has taken him through Manchester (where he read History at the University of Manchester) to London where he has lived for the past six years. He is now happily settled in Forest Hill in south-east London.

Tim’s main passions are varied and keep him very busy. These include (inter alia) correcting people’s grammatical mistakes, getting his hopes and dreams dashed by a combination of Aston Villa Football Club and the England Cricket Team and using obscure Latin terminology.

Moreover, he is an accomplished trumpet player who is currently Principal Trumpet and Head of Brass with the Camden Chamber Orchestra, a semi-proficient German speaker who hopes to become fully proficient, a mentor with a wonderful charity called The Arts Emergency Service (which seeks to help people from less fortunate backgrounds access Higher Education in the Arts) and an aspiring wine and food aficionado. His greatest hope is that he will one day be described as a bon viveur.

On this website, he shall be blogging about all or some of the above. When he can remember to do so.

He also has an annoying penchant for writing about himself in the third person.
