Food has always been a great passion of mine. It means more to me than simply a means of sustenance, so much more. I derive great pleasure from eating all kinds of food and enjoy trying to taste as many different cuisines and cooking techniques as I can. For me, food and wine are inextricably linked; it won’t come as a surprise to anyone who routinely reads my posts that some of my fondest memories have involved eating and drinking.
When I go to restaurants I invariably insist on taking photographs of the dishes that we order (much to the chagrin of my wife – my erstwhile gastronomic comrade) and do my best when writing up my experiences to convey the atmosphere, the service, the experience and the sensory delights (hopefully!)
Please see my Reviews Archive for a compendium of the various restaurants that I have reviewed thusfar.
It has sometimes been said that I am too positive in my reviews. I would make a couple of points regarding this; firstly, I am naturally quite an optimistic and positive person and as such always tend to look for the best in my experiences! Secondly, I tend to pick places to eat at that I have researched and believe that are going to be good; as such I feel that it is going to be a rare occasion that I pick somewhere that isn’t good. I do, however, always give my honest impression of what I am eating.
Since 2014 I have been providing restaurant reviews for Tasting Britain.
Whilst writing these reviews is principally a hobby of mine, I am always looking for opportunities to expand my writing experiences and capabilities. Should you be interested in discussing this with me in greater detail then please use the contact form below.
